Without Pause Installation

Without Pause is an installation piece I presented in Chapin Auditorium at Mount Holyoke College as the start of the
Senior Dance Concert '09 "In The Still," featuring the choreography of Kim Allen, myself, and Kaitlin McCarthy.

A total of six curtains with two projections swayed in the space as audience members found their seats the half hour prior to the show.
Seen here is some footage of the work (taken by Clarity Guerra) within the space on opening night.

46 Minutes

Performance, Film & Editing by Merli V. Guerra

This piece studies a single space within overlapping times. I filmed my bedroom for 46 minutes during the day, then projected
the image of my sunlit room onto the same space at night, and integrated myself as a central character. I then moved in
very slow motion over the course of the original 46 minute footage, speeding my actions up later digitally.
The result is a strange quality of light in the space, as well as an odd movement style within the character.

These are excerpts from the five minute piece.
